Microbiological tests
The aim of microbiological tests is to monitor contamination during the entire cosmetics production process, from obtaining the raw material and production hygiene, to the finished product. These tests verify the degree of microbiological purity of cosmetics and thus confirm their safety, in accordance with the acceptable levels specified in the ISO 17516 Cosmetics – Microbiology – Microbiological limits.
Dermatological tests (patch tests)
Dermatological tests (patch tests) are carried out in terms of irritating and allergenic properties, mainly using the patch test method under the supervision of a dermatologist. Thanks to them, we verify whether the product is safe for the skin, and thus doesn’t cause skin irritation.
In-Use tests
They are carried out to assess cosmetics impact on skin tolerance at the application site during regular application of the product, according to the purpose of use for specified period of time (repetitive test).
In-use tests are conducted on a diverse group of volunteers, of different ages, with various skin problems e.g. rosacea, vascular skin, dandruff, hyperhidrosis etc.
These tests are performed in order to confirm or exclude the product properties claimed on the product label.
Instrumental (efficacy) tests
Instrumental (efficacy) tests are measurements of the condition of the skin with the use of non-invasive test methods, made under controlled conditions using specialized measuring devices.
UV tests
When introducing a cosmetic product with UV filters to the market a producer is obliged to carry out a test that will confirm products efficacy against UVA and UVB radiation.
Stability and compatibility tests
The durability of a product is evaluated using various tests, such as stability test, compatibility test (stability test in final packaging) and challenge test. Stability tests are done to test the product’s shelf life. Tests are carried out under various temperature, humidity or light conditions. Values obtained before start of the test are later compared to the values obtained after different time intervals.
Physicochemical tests
Determination of the cosmetic mass technological parameters, such as density, pH, viscosity, dry matter and many others, is the basis for developing a technical specification. Apart from that it is a key element in verification of the cosmetic formulation stability.
Physicochemical tests are the basis for determining the properties of cosmetics as well as their stability / compatibility with the packaging under various conditions.

Packaging tests
